Manifeste 2016

A manifest for the arts of time, IRCAM's multidisciplinary festival and academy has its first encounter with the visual arts. A constellation surrounding arte povera exposed and extended at the Centre Pompidou in June 2016.

Presence of a re-enchanted nature, the invention of a new way of making instruments, the simplification of the circuit between life and art, these are the marks of poor art in music. In the nocturnal world of Salvatore Sciarrino, in the climatic art of Gérard Pesson or the vocal theater of Beat Furrer, the game of horror and ecstasy finds a unique accent. The tactility of limited material still fascinates the young generation of artists, low-tech enthusiasts in a high-tech institute.

From the vagabond pioneer, the American Harry Partch, inventor of extraordinary instruments to Thierry De Mey who has stages the "beauty of gesture", a ManiFeste for live performance.
