XAVIER LE ROY
Upon completion of his studies in molecular biology, Xavier Le Roy began working as a artist-choreographer in 1991. Following his beginings as a performer with a variety of groups and choreographers, since 1994 he has developed solo work and has initiated projects exploring modes of production and collaboration constitutive of working as a group. His latest works question the relationships between the audience and performers. Le Roy continutes his research with works developed for specific exhibit spaces.
From 1996 to 2003, he was a resident at Podewil in Berlin. In 2007-2008, he was the associated artist at the CCN de Montpellier. In 2010, Xavier Le Roy was a resident in the Art Culture and Technology program at MIT (USA) and from 2012 to 2015 he was a resident at the Cité Internationale de Paris.
