THOMAS HAUERT

Following his studies at the Rotterdam Dance Academy, Hauert moved to Brussels in 1991. He danced in Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker's company, and then with Gonnie Heggen, David Zambrano, and Pierre Droulers. In 1998, he founded the ZOO company where the work develops through research on movement, with a focus on writing based on improvisation, exploring the tension between freedom and constraint, the individual and a group, order and disorder, form and shapelessness. The company created 15 performances. In parallel, Thomas signs choreographers for Mozambicans dancers, for CanDoCo, a dance company for handicapped, and non-handicapped, dancers, as well as for the P.A.R.T.S. school in Brussels.
