MARIANGELA VACATELLO
Born in 1982 in Naples to a family of musicians, Mariangela Vacatello began the piano at the age of 4 and studied at the Imola Academy, at the Milan Conservatory, and at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Christopher Elton. She also took a number of master classes with leading artists and had her first success at 14, performing Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1 in Milan. Since then, she has has an international career, performing as a soloist, with orchestras (under the baton of conductors such as Krystof Penderecky, Gustav Kuhn, Andris Nelsons, Gerard Korsten, Daniel Kawka, Michael Tabachnik), performing chamber music (with artists including Rocco Filippini, Gary Hoffman, Ilya Grubert, Francesco Tamiati, the Ysaye and Takacs quartets).
