JULIEN LEROY

Winner of the 2014 Adami Talent Chef d’Orchestre competition, Julien Leroy represents the new generation of French conductors. From 2012 to 2015, he was the assistant conductor for the Ensemble intercontemporain under Suzanna Mälkki and Matthias Pintscher, as well as a regular guest of Pierre Boulez at the Lucerne Festival. Awarded honorable mention in the 15th Tokyo International Music Competition for Conducting in 2009, his recent and future collaborations include the Orchestre de la Suisse romande, the Bilkent Symphonic Orchestra, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, the Orchestre national de Lille, the Orchestre national d’Île de France, the Orchestre national des Pays de la Loire, the Orchestre national de Lorraine, and the premiere in September 2016 of Philippe Manoury’s new opear, Kein Licht, at the Opéra Comique in Paris and on tour in Europe.
