HEINER GOEBBELS
Heiner Goebbels moved to Frankfurt am Main in 1972 to study sociology and music. In 1976 he founded the Sogenannten Linksradikalen Blasorchester (lit. Radical-Left Wind Orchestra), a duo with Alfred Harth, and Cassiber an experimental rock group.
He first composed music for the theater for Hans Neuenfels, Claus Peymann, Matthias Langhoff, Ruth Berghaus and music for film for Helke Sander. In the mid-1980s, he composed and staged his own works—several of which were based on works by Heiner Müller, Bertold Brecht and Hanns Eisler, Samuel Beckett, and Gertrude Stein. Author of numerous musical works for theater and productions, Heiner Goebbels erased the boundary between opera and theater.
