ENSEMBLE INTERCONTEMPORAIN

Founded by Pierre Boulez in 1976, the Ensemble intercontemporain brings together 31 soloists who share a passion for the music of the 20th and 21st centuries. The soloists are employed on a permanent contract, enabling them to fulfill the major aims of the Ensemble under the artistic direction of Matthias Pintscher: performance, creation and education for young musicians and the general public. Based at the Philharmonie de Paris, the Ensemble performs throughout France and abroad, taking part in major festivals worldwide. The Ensemble is supported by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication and receives additional support from the City of Paris.
