Interpretation: an activity involving the musician, the dancer, but also the audience trapped in a forest of signs. Based on his favorite theme, the choreographer Thomas Hauert mobilizes our souvenirs using Gershwin, hackneyed music and vast domain for interpretations, mocking Broadway and American clichés. In this constant back-and-forth between narration and freedom of abstraction, we hear fragments of the vocal and synthetic masterpiece by Mauro Lanza, Jeu de la mort du Roi, which tumbles over characters that are trivial and noble, serious, burlesque, and kitsch.
