YAN MARESZ
Yan Maresz studied piano and percussion in Monte Carlo before teaching himself rock and jazz guitar. He was the student, orchestrator, and arranger of guitarist John McLaughlin, studied jazz at Berklee College of Music (1984-1986), studied composition at the Juilliard School, and completed his training with David Diamond (1992). Maresz followed the Cursus program at IRCAM with Tristan Murail in 1993. An active instructor, Maresz was a composer in residence at the Strasbourg conservatory in 2003-04, guest professor at McGill University in Montreal in 2004-05, a composition instructor at IRCAM from 2006 to 2011, and currently teaches orchestration and electroacoustics and the CNSMD de Paris and the CRR de Boulogne-Billancourt.
